Bemis Art Community

At any time of the day, creative pursuits are being developed by over 40 dedicated, working painters, photographers, furniture makers, and filmmakers in the Bemis Building. Tucked into the southwest corner of downtown Seattle, the bi-annual art exhibitions have featured hundreds of local artists and attracted thousands of visitors. In 2010, the community created the Bemis Art Community Weblog to inspire conversations about the building of community and the cultivation of art. It serves as a stage for our community members to be featured, tell their story and draw admirers into our world between shows. Behind the scenes, it serves as a portfolio developer for our volunteer art producers. By promoting one another and the people around us, we contribute to the development of culture in the world at large. People are what they leave behind. We want our work to be continually built upon for years to come. Therefore, we are establishing programs with the next organizers in mind. It is our aspiration that this weblog will not only serve as a place for cultivating our community, but also, a place where others may find inspiration for growing their own.
