Autism Navigator is a unique collection of web-based tools and courses that uses extensive video footage to bridge the gap between science and community practice. The Florida State University (FSU) Autism Institute designed and built Autism Navigator. We have integrated the most current research into a highly interactive web platform with extensive video footage to illustrate effective evidence-based practice. The video clips come from the unparalleled library of video footage from federally-funded longitudinal research at the FSU Autism Institute.
Through our webinars, courses, and online tools, Autism Navigator is reaching families and professionals throughout the world, including physicians and other healthcare providers in primary care; psychologists, social workers, SLPs, OT/PTs; early intervention providers; early childhood educators and childcare providers. Our signature course, About Autism in Toddlers, has over 93,000 people enrolled from 190 countries. Our webinars attract a global audience and demonstrate how important our information is and how many people have no other way to learn this information.
Our new companion, BabyNavigator.com is designed to improve early detection, teach families how to support their baby's development in everyday activities, and as soon as autism is suspected, help families get started right away.
Autism Navigator is the brainchildren of Amy M. Wetherby, PhD, distinguished Research Professor and Director of the Autism Institute at Florida State University’s College of Medicine, and internationally recognized for her research in ASD. She founded Autism Navigator, LLC in 2013 with Juliann Woods, PhD, as a small, social entrepreneurial, grassroots business. Its Chief Operating Officer is Nancy D. Rich, founder of First Signs, and author of two books on autism. The FSU Autism Institute and Autism Navigator LLC work closely together to develop and deploy our online courses, tools, webinars, and resources.
