The Metropolitan News Company is an information provider specializing in fulfilling needs of the legal community. It publishes seven California newspapers covering the counties of Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, and Sacramento. Its flagship, the Metropolitan News-Enterprise, founded in 1901, is a Los Angeles daily newspaper focusing largely on law and the courts. The paper includes the Slip Opinion Supplement, with full texts of the latest appellate court decisions. The company also publishes the Rules of Court of the State of California as well as the rules for all major California counties. A specialist in all forms of public notice advertising, MNC operates placement services, both display and classified, worldwide. Its participation in the legal community is highlighted by its annual “Persons of the Year” dinner, which pays tribute to two or three outstanding lawyers or judges. LACBA members receive discounts on subscriptions to the Metropolitan News Company newspapers and Rules of Court. Newspaper subscribers, in turn, are eligible for further discounts on other products and services.
