We’re a team of educators. We believe photography is an experience that is explored, and allows us to explore. It is a creative outlet for self-expression. It’s a tool that educates and informs. It documents and preserves the past while opening our eyes to the present. Come explore with us. It’s a big, diverse world - show the world how you see it, through your lens. Looking Glass is a photography lifestyle brand centered on the promotion and communication of photographic resources that support people’s pursuit of self-expression, with an inherent focus on nature conservation and adventure. Our mission is to facilitate access to the tools and experiences they need by inspiring a sense of community and a confidence to explore and grow in their own self-expression and storytelling. This mission is rooted in the belief that everyone can and should play a role in capturing and sharing the diverse world we all share. Our photo center is located in Berkeley, California and boasts approximately 8,000 square feet of immersive space. The center includes a full retail showroom, an art gallery, darkroom facility, and an educational classroom. Looking Glass hosts co-sponsored events with iconic photography brands including Sony, Nikon and Canon, as well as an annual photography tradeshow-like event that brings dozens of companies and photography ambassadors under one roof, connecting people with the companies whose products they use every day. Current extracurricular programs sponsored and/or operated by Looking Glass include: Bay Area Nikon Shooters Club Photo Walks for Good EPIC Photo Escapes Looking Glass Day Trips This network of programs provides opportunities for learning, traveling and community building with the mission of growing people’s confidence and often “doing good” with the craft of photography. Looking Glass also creates, curates, and distributes content to help people identify with the power of photography.
